Well today’s post is continuing on the theme of video. My first ’serious’ video went up only a few days ago. The feedback has been great. It even managed to get ranked in the Top 40 in the YouTube ‘Howto & Style (UK)’ section on it’s first day. Awesome! Thanks to everyone who has watched it, left comments on here, or the Youtube video or gave it a YouTube Star Rating as I think that effects the exposure. Now I’m not saying that to brag or boast (though as you’d expect I’m well pleased), but to encourage you to have a go. My big effort for producing the video is certainly paying off in other ways; But more of that later. You’ll be surprised at the impact it has had. Very surprised.

I can’t claim credit for this one as it has been done by my friend Paull Hamilton. Absolutely awesome stuff Paull. And my sincerest thanks once again for doing this for me, friend. So take a look before reading the rest of this post. If you are here, I hope you pressed that Bl**dy Play Button and appreciate the quality of Paulls work here. But get this - I didn’t ask Paull to do this – he contacted me and said “I’d like to do this for you, are you interested?” Well I nearly bit is hand off !! I’ve seen the quality of work he has done before so wasn’t going to turn down an offer like that!! NO WAY. Now that is fully embracing the concept Alex Jeffreys preaches of giving first and worry about receiving later. DON’T CHASE THE MONEY in crude simplistic terms. Go over to Paulls site and you will see a great comment left by Gary Simpson about ‘positioning’. It’s worthy of a post in its own right. When you’ve read and digested that post you’ll realise positioning is essential to build up a loyal following. Yep, it’s definitely frustrating initially but the only way to go in the long-term. Paull is positioning himself as a Video Marketing Wizard and I don’t think it is any coincidence that we also see him in the Top 5 of the Commentators (left side bar)to this site at the moment as well. Exposure takes Effort but it gets Easier.

I’ve actually gone on longer than I wanted to here. But the above is very important. I’ll have to get back to you later about the impact and direction I have been going with video. It has opened up a whole new avenue and my traffic stats will vouch for that :-) More on that another time though ..
PS. I’m conducting a little experiment on this page and I will reveal the results when sufficient time has past to get some meaningful stats. I bet you will have no chance of guessing what it is. I may be tempted to let slip a little clue here and there as time permits, depends what mood I am in too, LOL.
