Update and a Case Study for Alex Jeffreys Students
Hope everyone is well and putting into action the steps to build a solid foundation to an online business. I thought this morning I’d put up a general catch up post as we have had so many comments, that it’s easy to loose valuable responses along the way. Just a reminder don’t forget to vote in the poll, the video option just has the most votes at the moment, so if you want your preference to win get your vote in now.
BIG NEWS FIRST! Have you seen that the man himself, Alex Jeffreys, has posted a very long and complimentary post on the blog to us all? In fact, he is that impressed with how we have all pulled together on the site and helped one another that he is going to make a case study of us all. Wow, how cool is that??? I think that can only be beneficial to all who have commented, contributed and those that appear in the Blogroll as even more people will visit here and then pop on over to your sites as well. It’s win-win all around, so I urge anyone who has been holding back until now – get involved – everybody gains in the long run and at the same time we can help and support one another.
So here follows some key topics that have been covered over just the last 2 days and help for those who want to know how to do something.
Blog Traffic
How am I getting so much traffic and promoting the blog? What methods am I using to get the traffic (over 150 visitors yesterday!)? A few people have asked things along those lines.
Sorry, but I’m no expert – it’s my first ever blog – so I don’t really know how I’ve achieved it but this is a breakdown on what I’ve done which has all helped to contribute:-
-
Written on average about 2 posts a day,
-
Created a student Blogroll. I’ve done this as a useful resource for everyone plus this helps these other student’s sites. I didn’t ask if they would return the favour; just knew it would be beneficial to them. Already, I’ve noticed quite a few have returned the favour and added me to their Blogroll which is mutually beneficial to both of us in getting traffic. If you haven’t a blogroll I think it is something you should consider doing.
-
Added a video to YouTube. Certainly got traffic from that and still am.
-
Registered my blog with Feedburner and added the RSS subscriber feed to my blog. Now to be honest I don’t understand this at all. Don’t even know if I’ve set it all up properly!! For example, can some tell me if that little orange icon on the left sidebar of my blog is configured correctly!!??? I really do not have any idea so appreciate what other more experienced readers have to say about RSS/Feedburner.
-
Contributed to other peoples’ blogs.
-
Positioned myself as an independent point of contact from Alex and Dean’s blog. I can tell particularly from the emails I have been getting, that some people are more suspicious, or possibly a better description would be they want to see clearer evidence, that the approach Alex teaches in his coaching course does actually work. Think they feel comfortable that I am telling my story. We must have nearly 100 comments in about 1 week now, so I guess it’s working.
-
Made the Permalinks on my blog more SEO friendly. Again not 100% sure what all this is about but I’ve read that it is the thing to do rather than use the default WordPress setting that just numbers all your post rather than using the title of the post to link to them.
So that’s it in essence. Not sure which particular bit has got me the most traffic because I don’t know how to measure such things yet, or how to improve them even if I could!! In the end I just took action, not worried too much about things and it seems to have taken on a life of its own.

It is easy to forget that we are all at differing levels of expertise. Those who need more information on the basics may find these blog entries useful.
A useful comment from Coleen can be found here
Some information on the basics of getting set up can be found here
And finally, a video on installing WordPress in just 2 minutes
Branding – How should you do it?
Touched on in various comments. Click on this comment from Coleen here which is a useful starting point and around where other people’s views on it can be found.
“The Secret”, the Law of Attraction – Having the Correct Mindset
Again commented on quite a bit.
Have a look first here and around here is some more feedback
Patience; Perceived lack of Progress
The post that generated the most feedback and the most revealing about the way some people address things is found here.
And the excellent response from Dean here
but the whole comment thread is useful to read.
So that’s a summary of the highlights just from the last 2 days alone. Amazing, how things are moving along. Key to it all; take action, ask questions if you are stuck, don’t get bogged down with perfection (you can see from a few things I’ve done I’m not 100% sure about them) as something is better than nothing. Don’t get frustrated as committing to things over a longer period will work out better then just short-term focus. Even though all the materials are not yet loaded up on the members site there is loads to be doing. At the moment I’m going through all the Post Launch Secret videos again and carrying out actions based on those.
Keep at it. Remember to vote and see you next time.

Hi Garry,
Another one of Alex’s students here!
Thanks for the tips on how you have generated traffic, got my blog set up now so will be giving all of those a try.
Off to cast my vote in your poll, keep up the good work!
Mark
Hi Garry,
Wow! I’m very impressed with your blog – you have definately got a massive gathering and at the moment I can see that it going to be a very heated race between yourself and Dean on who can make the most progress and win Alex’s special competition prize, whatever that may be – LOL!
I’m also very delighted for you that Alex has personally posted to your blog and that Alex is ‘going to use us as a case study’, that’s IMPRESSIVE stuff. I just hope we can all live up to his expectations as he’s revealing and teaching us so much.
BTW, Thank you for adding me to your blogroll, I will do the same and add you to mine as I
think this is fair, plus like you say if we all work together, we can certainly make a great success out of this course and gain more friends too.
Have a wonderful weekend and I look forward to hearing from you again.
Best Regards
Nigel
PS: Can I ask you a quick favour Garry, providing you don’t mind: How did you find my blog? Thanks again, Nigel!
Hi garry;
Nice post once again
Some of your readers may find the following tips helpful for generating traffic to their blogs;
Sign up for social networking/bookmarking sites and submit small introductory posts via http://www.socialmarker.com/
Submit your feedburner (or wordpress feed http://example.com/?feed=rss) to http://www.feedage.com and http://www.feedagg.com
They are huge and will definitely help with your Google ranking. The more one way links you can get to your sites the better.

Hi Gary,
OMG-What a brilliant post by Alex, I am so excited for you! I quite like the idea of being a case study aswell!
Thanks for your great posts to our site. We love the feedback from you pros!!lol
If you get the chance do you think you could change your blogroll to our new blog address, I have added you to ours, well I have actually used your blogroll to make ours! Hope you don’t mind?
I have just written a post detailing what I had to do to move our blog from blogger to our own domain and hosting with wordpress. Hopefully I may be able to help others who are doing the same at the moment, just like I have been helped along the way.
I’m looking forward to your video,
Good luck

hey Garry,
what can i say man ?
150 people to your blog in one day
well what do i say ?
— WOW, —
does that work ?
this alone just says it all,
if you take action – even if you’re not to sure why
your doing the tasks something positive will come out
of it, (ofcourse as long as your following a proven system)
Listen …
im going to add *ALL OF YOU* to my blog roll,
Once we get module 2 and 3 under our belts
you’ll soon learn how to monitize your traffic
and ofcourse provided them more than enough value
to subscribe to your list to be a regular reader,
(can i hear a $$$ cha-ching $$$)
it just seems so fantastic to be sitting here reading all your blogs
knowing that we’ve only just covered the basics in module 1
Okay ok … it was forward to basics right,
but fair play you all took what i said and run with it,
(i’m DEAD proud of every one of you)
and garry you are correct for now don’t worry to much what all the
tasks you are doing are for –
- the most important thing is you are seeing MAJOR results and
everything else falls into place after you take action,
its all about some simple planning right ?
and we havent even got into social media and traffic
yet – thats for module 3 & 4 after we go over your profit
pulling platform & list building machine in module 2,
BTW -
i’ve made sure to check out and read all of the blogs here,
and im going to make sure to keep checking up on them and
comment on everyones blogs too,
this weekend ive been catching up with the program
and getting the new support suite installed
so with that said,
Im outta here to speak with richard my tech support guy
to upload your support videos and product that i have
just been working on,
talk real soon
To all of your success
Alex Jeffreys
Hi Garry,
Great post! That’s an awesome post from Alex! And your blog roll of students has grown! Would you be able to explain how you put that on your blog? I’d like to add one too.
I’m looking forward to your next post.

Hi Garry,
One R Gary here (maybe I’ll just position myself as Gazza – LOL!)
You are doing a brilliant job at disseminating “INDEPENDENT” information. Lurkers (people who are watching) will be very interested in the comments made by those other than Alex Jeffreys.
In short, all these positive comments are TESTIMONIALS for him. It’s social media. If you guys flick over to my site you will see a lot more commentary about that in my replies to my own blog participants.
Alex has been there too and he confirmed my prediction about what we are doing.
Anyway, check it out.
Regards
Gary Simpson
PS: I’ll also have a new post over there later today about the insidious BUZZARDS and SEAGULLS who are circling our camp wanting to pick off the weaker ones and drop poop all over everything we are trying to do. We need to be wary of these types. (Dean Holland knows what I mean)
Hi Garry and everyone,
Folks, I re-posted this here because I know there are a lot of people coming to this thread to read – well done Garry.
The BUZZARDS and SEAGULLS post at my blog is up. I think it is important that we steel ourselves against these types – just block them off at the pass and shut them and their rubbish out.
Please check out my latest post concerning the BUZZARDS and SEAGULLS who have tried to attack Dean Holland and Alex Jeffreys. I saw it and I wasn’t happy. Not at all. And I won’t be telling anyone the links because well… they are worthless dead ends.
But you’ll LIKE what I said over at my blog. It’s too long to say it here. Check it out.

Hi Garry, Hi Guys,
Glad to see all my course mates here. I ve been hanging around at this blog since yesterday and tell you Garry it is fantastic! Just cant believe it you are a first timer in this. I just found out that this is truly unique. To my knowledge there is no other coaching program/ courses whereby you will get the students, by their own initiative build such a networking via blogroll! the common one would be, the admin will set up a forum which in most cases people will put all kind of affiliate links in there.
But this is just totally different, isnt? Hey, I m working on my first blog. Today i ve registered my domain name with godaddy and get my hosting with hostgator. But it will takes 24-48 hours for proprogation. Just cant wait then. Quite disappointed, coz thought I would really utilize my weekend working out my plan, but got to delay it then. But will tell you guys the add then!
Sorry for this lengthy “reply”. Just get excited here.
Regards

Hi Garry,
I’m sure the biggest reason that you get so much traffic in such a short period is because of the contribution you made. You see, I always got to learn new things reading your posts and I’m always coming back. Keep up the good work and you will see even greater result soon.
Can’t wait for the case study
To your success,
Will

Garry,
I just copied and pasted most of this from a post I left at Dean Holland’s blog. I wanted to ask this here too as I know you are getting a lot of eyes and replies here.
Just listened again (3rd time) to Alex Jeffreys’ Module 1.
I have taken copious amounts of notes on Module 1. I need to know whether I can publish them on my blog or if it would be unethical. I can write a full account or just summarise in bullet form. Or I could just make brief notes.
I need 10 people to say they would be interested and I will go ahead as I think it would be useful for everyone.
If I am careful I can do it in such a way that it won’t be a giveaway for lurkers or – even worse – the buzzards and the seagulls.
Or, I could password the info.
People, tell me what I should do.
Regards
Gary Simpson

PS: I don’t want to conflict with anything Dean is doing either.
Hi Gary
It’s hard to say, but what I can tell you is I have been taught to keep things close to my chest when it comes to your online marketing because someone…like the buzzards and seagulls…are sure to swoop your stuff.
Maybe we should all be a little reserved in saying ALL of what Alex is doing and instead drip feed the information and build suspense at the same time.
That way it will generate buzz but not overstep the mark…..
Anyway, I am visiting everyone on the blog roll to show my support and say good luck to my fellow students.
Gary can you drop me a line in my blog letting me know you put up that feed so that I can add it to my blog? It sure would be helpful.
Until we next chat…you know how it goes mate!!
