Clever Student BlogRoll Changes
Finally got around to doing my super-duper changes to the way my complete Stundent Blogroll is displayed on the screen. So, for those that haven’t quite noticed or worked out what changes I have done they can be split into 4 bits:
1. Main BlogRoll
This consists of two bits and both can be expandable/collapsable by clicking the
arrows (or the small square box on some browsers!). The first bit is titled ‘Top Links’ that conists of 4 links at the moment that are automatically expanded to be visible and include links that I directly add.
The second is titled ‘Most Active Blogs’ and is intended to be exactly what it says. You see I thought about what is the real use and benefit of a Blogroll, and it is clearly to go quickly and easily to those blogs with things happening on them. At the moment the count stands at 59 entries and these are initially ‘hidden’ but can, by clicking the arrow to the immediate left of the entry, be expanded to reveal the entries. Now I want to get this count down to no more than 50 so I will be adding/removing entries from the list as time goes by. Initially, in preparing this initial list of 59 I made a crude subjective attempt of deciding who should be on this list based on my own visits to the blogs, the frequency of posting/commenting on the blog and general level of contribution to the overall Alex Jeffreys Community. I know for a fact I will have missed some obvious candidates (whoops, I can think or some already!) but it was my first stab at it and I will be adding/removing to it as time goes by. Remember my target is to have no more than 50 so anybody added will mean someone is removed!! (Plus also I have to loose 9 to start off with!!). Also, remember there is no precise scientific formulae I am using for who is on or off. If you feel you are worthy of inclusion compared to other entries on it and feel I’ve inadvertently missed you off then please let me know. (You don’t have to say who you think you should replace, just let me know you think your blog is sufficient to be added and I’ll decide who is replaced.)
2. Top Monthly Commentators
This section is exactly what it says. The 15 most active commenters on this Blog over the last rolling month are shown here. If you hover your pointer over an entry you can see the number of comments a person has made and thus you know what your target is to be included. (Seems there is a slight overflow problem when the comment count gets into triple figures but doesn’t have any real impact). Obviously people in this list can appear in the prior ‘Main Blogroll’ so in effective listed twice on my front-page
3. Random BlogRoll
Again this does exactly what it says. It will pick 5 entries at random from the entire list in my Student Blogroll. Now these 5 are pulled from the entire list and not just the ones described above – it includes the ‘hidden’ ones for want of a better description. The entire Student Blogroll is around 270 at the moment. These 5 random entries will change each time you visit my blog or click to go to a different page.
4. Complete Student BlogRoll
I’ve not got around to getting this up yet, but the entire Student Blogroll will be on a secondary page as well. This will replace the old ‘overflow’ page as this will be expanded to include everyone. People can use this find out about all the other student blogs which may not be displayed on the first page and also use it to check if they have been included on my Student Blogroll.
In the end, I think the changes I have made achieve the primary aim of been useful to all my visitors (as well as me!) but at the same time not punitive to anyone. Everyone has an opportunity to be visible on the front screen (in 2 places!) based on there contribution, activity and overall value to the entire community. Plus there are always ‘guest’ spots through the Random section.
Anyway, I’d appreciate you let me know what you think. Do you think the changes are an improvement? Do you think it is fair?
As a side note, some statistics may be interesting that I gathered in the compilation of the current 59 Most Active Blogs. Of those 59, 40 (68%) were previously already on the original front page blogroll which consisted of 71 entries. So we have ‘replaced’ 31. A further 17 (29%) have been ‘promoted’ from the prior overflow page. The final 2 (3%) were not even on my overflow page and thus have been pretty ‘late’ starters but have already made very impressive strides to get on the front page. Can you guess who those 2 are? (Hey for now you ’2′ that obviously know who you are, let the others guess a while and see if they can ‘suss’ you out!)

Heh…heh… as some people say to me…
“Gazza… Gazza… Gazza…”
You are gonna get into Trou-ble.
The Capitalists like me and quite a few others are gonna like this but the more Socialistically minded and the Communists won’t like it ONE LITTLE BIT! Just like they will detest what I have just written here. Oops.
Sorry. I am such a naughty fellow. I know. You don’t have to tell me.
Seriously, Gazza, GREAT IDEA! You reward those who are doing the work. Why not? It makes PERFECT sense to me.
Well, I reckon I might have either stirred up a hornet’s nest with what I have said or maybe I just killed off this thread completely.
Let’s find out, shall we?
Gazz-Man from Gazz-Land.
Hi Garry
I echo Gazza’s thoughts above! And I am not jsut saying that ’cause I am included in the top 59
Can it really be that out of 500 students only 59 can rank as active….guess so – it’s the 20/80 rule again or more the 95/5 rule!
Garry you ROCK man….
I have made it my mantra now to give give give – so look out everyone I am going to social bookmark everything I like!
May the force be with you

Hi Garry,
Nice changes. I like particularly random blogroll, nice one.
Speak to you soon,
Gordan
Hi Garry,
Excellent work yet again.
Very good set up and in particular I link the random selection of 5 blogs to appear on the front page…very cool!
Drop down arrow also very good idea. One of the biggest problems I was finding with the blog roll was the amount of space it was taking up. There where things I wanted to add to my sidebar. I have put the whole blog roll on a seperate page but my use same of your ideas.
Are these widgets that you used or just case of adding code/script?
On another matter…
I saw Gazza’s comment on your previous thread and your reply on his blog about the video.
I’m with Gazza….turn that auto play off man!!!
Like Gazza I make many visits here a day. It plays when the site loads, it plays when you want to read comments, it plays when you go back to the home page…
It’s driving me CRAZY!! LOL
No poll neeeded my friend…LOL
I was always told is a very bad idea to have autoplay on. There is nothing worse than a site loading and to have audio blasting at you before you have had the chance to read anything. Usually makes me close the page.
Oh no mate..Gazza syndrome strikes again…I’m ranting..LOL
Speak soon & do let me know what you used to make the changes to the blog roll.
Mark

>Gary – Hopefully everyone will think it is fair to all and see the sense it what I have done. In the end it was impossible to have everyone on the front page, hence why I had to have the overflow page. So there was already a subdivision and this was purely implemented on a first-come, first served basis. That is, if you had your blog up and running from the very start you got on the front page else you ended up on the overflow page. As I’ve said before first-come, first served was hardly fair and this goes a long way to rectifying that. I am sure the 31 who have lost their ‘front-page’ position will argue otherwise, but why should they have a ‘right’ to think they can keep there when others have put in more effort and deservingly should replace them. In an ideal world everyone would be on the front page but it is not feasible so I have to manage the division somehow.
>Harry – Just to clarify there are far more than 59 that are ‘active’ as you put it. It is just that I am targeting a maximum of 50 on this list. The 59 that are there at the moment was me just going through the entire blogroll quickly and deciding if on merit they should be positioned there. Now it took me hours and hours of effort until the early hours of the morning to get all the changes implemented and the first-cut of the list done. I can see already that I have missed a couple who should be on that list and also like I say I will be removing some to get down below 50.
Incidentally, now that the changes are done it takes me less than a minute to move people on and off the various lists I have. So let me know if you think you should be on it people.
Garry
Sorry mate…I have reread the post and I got it wrong there are more than that…270 as you say.
Also I would say turn off the autoplay:-)
Cheers big ears!
Harry

http://twitter.com/harryharrisblog
>Gordon – glad you like it. Yeah, I thought the random blogroll was a good way of ensuring everyone has the opportunity to become visible. Of course, everyone has the opportunity to get immediately onto the front page as the top 15 Monthly Commenters section is done automatically (no intervention from me). And of course, if I see someone pops into that Top 15 and I’ve somehow not noticed them before, it will certainly make me (and other visitors to the blog) want to pop over to their blogs if they haven’t already, to see what is happening over on their place. Furthermore, someone getting into that Top 15 (and it really isn’t hard to do – look at the last entry and a dozen comments over the course of a month will do it!!), will be a prime candidate for me adding them manually into the more permanent TOP 50 if they aren’t there already.
>Mark – Yes, one of the greatest pluses for me with the dropdown ability of the new blogroll was the space saving it made. And I am using widgets. I’m hoping to get a video up later in the week if people are interested showing exactly how I’ve managed to do it all. Does anyone want me to do a video on it all?
I hear what you say about the video auto-playing. But before your comment there were only 2 comments about the video. One positive and one negative. So the jury is still out. I will put up a poll later in the week so get feedback. But I will say there is another side to this – does it get the message across? And I would say by the evidence to date the answer is a resounding YES. The short 30-sec promotional video I put up last week for the Profit Pulling Project Newsletter has been embedded on nearly 2,700 websites across the world. Now that was on auto-play and easily surpasses the promo for the launch issue that stands at about 1,200 and that wasn’t on auto-play. Now it could be that the demonstrates the far greater interest in Issue 2 over Issue 1 or it could be a direct consequence of having the second on auto-play which if that is the case it is having a direct impact of spreading the word further. None of this is conclusive yet, but I think on one of the earlier modules with Alex he told us about measuring the metrics and stats to know what is and isn’t work or what has the best impact.
>Harry – not yet little eyes
Hi Garry,
Yes, if you could do a video on the whole set up that would be good. I for one would definately appreciate it.
As for the video as you say, it’s all about the metrics. If it is delivering successful results for you stick with it, I’ll just turn my speakers off before arriving, LOL
It’s not a major problem and I was half joking. It’s only because like Gary I visit here so many times I probably hear it more than most!
Newsletter tomorrow isn’t it?
Hope so, just in time before I go away!
All the best
Mark

Hi Mark,
Just thinbk of how many time I have to listen to the Bl**dy thing. I hear it in my sleep now, LOL!
I will though seriously listen to what people have to say becuase in the end it’s a balancing act between getting a message across coupled with making sure I don’t turn off readers.
Yes the Newsletter is out tomorrow. Nearly all ready. Hope you enjoy your trip away.
Hi Garry
Sounds great in theory but the arrows to expand are not accessible to me. They are visible but I can’t click them. I use Firefox so I went over and tried your pages in IE – same happemed. Why is this happening ?
Hi Kath,
I’ve tried it in Forexfox, IE verion 7 and version 6 and everything is working fine for me. What version of IE are you using?
What are you seeing for the ‘Top Links (4)’ to the left of it and below it?
In fact, can you send me an image of what you are seeing and where you are trying to click?
Garry
Little eyes…did I miss something?
Harry
Hi Garry,
Looking forward to Wednesday for the second hot edition, well done.
Not sure about the music bit……..had to turn it off, guess you can’t please everyone all the time.,
Paull’s video on fire, really, really, goood. Will be commenting on his blog.
Look me up when you are in Harrogate, if a.m. have a coffee, later anything you like!
Regards,
Colin
Gazza,
That auto-start on the video is really incessantly, relentlessly, incredibly irritating.
Just spare a thought also for the folks who are in offices and who are sneaking a little “look-see” during working hours. Then the TRUMPETS, PERCUSSION, DRUMS start up. The boss walks in…
Here’s a HEADS UP folks. If you want a thumpin’, humpin’ pumpin’ rockin’ active blog like Garry “the Machine” Parkes and the Gazz-Man’s then get over to Gary-Land and have a look at the meal I have cooked up for you. It’s a whole SEVEN COURSES and you definitely won’t go away feeling hungry. I PROMISE! And a Gazz-Man promise can be taken to the BANK! (And the Manager will probably say… “WTF is this?”)
Anyway, come and have a look.
Regards to all the PEEPS and where is Deano?
Gary SIMPSON
>Harry – yep you missed something. Must be those little eyes again, LOL! See if you can spot what it is, … if not I’ll put you out of your misery later my friend ?
>Colin- Harrogate hey. It’s cold today, brrrrr. When I come out of my bunker may have to do that. Re. the video, earlier comments apply and will address it later in week
Hey Garry,
Hope that you had a great holiday–and I like the new layout of the blog. Definitely the 80/20 rule applying here with the active blogs, but I’ve been amazed to see so many people taking great action. There are more and more blogs getting active each day–I know it will be tough for you to keep it at just 50!
Keep up the good work, and we’ll talk soon.
Adam
P.S. I totally agree with the Gazz-man about the autoplay on the video on your blog…just my 2 cents
Glad you found a solution. I like the random rotation idea as well.
I added a similar ‘Top Commenters’ using a widget based on post count.
Also add a second dedicated page, but this needs updating.
The RSS solution is working pretty well for me. Infact it’s how I found this post.
I’d better be more active around here or i’ll be dropping off your list.
Dave
Garry,
I like the way you have decided to resolve the blog issues it seems extremely fair. Is there a trick to getting the expandable lists or was it a widget in your blog theme?
I am also afraid I must side with Gary about the autoplay. Especially in instances like now when I am slipping in a few minutes of blog hopping at my daytime job. There are times I need my sound on but forget to mute before going to this site and at times get totally caught by surprise if I am going to a site which has not previously had sound upon arrival. Just my opinion…
I also wondered if anyone else is having difficulty accessing Nigel’s blog. It appears to me that he has added a hull but lost the canoe as this is the only comment I am able to get when I access his site.
Ken
http://www.kennethdouglas.com/blog
Garry,
I also agree with what most are saying. First off it is your site and it is up to you who you promote. I like the idea of the random role as well as working with those who are doing the work.
It also amazes me that there are 500 of us and only 59 are doing most of the work. I am very new to all of this and I work almost 16 hours a day at this point, yet I am still trying to stay up with what my plan tells me I need to do.
Garry as always I want to thank you for all of your work. I hit your site atleast once a day to take a look at what you are doing.
Keep up the great work
Thom
Hey Garry,
Nice job on breaking up the blogroll. Only problem is it’s not working for me. In Firefox I do see both black arrows but I can’t click on them. In IE6 I see the first arrow but it’s not clickable and there is no second arrow. It’s just a square which usually means it’s an unreadable character.
Later,
Jeff Sargent
Hey Garry
I like your new blog roll concept especially with the arrows which certainly help keeps your blog near and tidy. On top of that that random blogs is certainly going to be a hit with some people although I have to say: how does that work, is it a random generator or does it work by a process of elimination, i.e. if a blog get feature, then the system random selects another few from ones which have not yet displayed?
Anyway, I couldn’t believe the stats I was seeing, 59 active blogs out of 500 (sorry 499 to be more precise) – what happened? Most importantly why such a high attrition rate? That ofcourse they are all dormant and are hibernating in the cold – afterall it’s – 6 degress celcius outside here today – wonder if it will hit -9 degrees celcius tonight? Have you had any snow?
All the best
Nigel
Hi Garry,
Great job on the blog roll. I would definitely be interested in a video of how you did it or at least the names of the widgets you used.
You’ve got my support for the way you’ve set it up and again it’s not because I’m in the top. For all I know I could be one of the 9 that has to go. If I am, so be it. Just look out the next week, because I’ll be fighting for my position back!
I’ve just made my latest post and stayed up all night to get it out! I received a report of how to easily find niche markets and the free tools to go with it.
I highly recommend everyone gets a copy of it because it will be of great value to them and could mean the difference between making money and not.
It’s free, just opt-in and you’ll receive an email with the download link.
Please pass the word to everyone and you can include a note about it in the newsletter, after vetting it if you have room and wish to do so. The title of the post is: “Do You Want To Easily Research A Niche”
I can’t wait to get my hands on the newsletter!
You’re a very hard act to follow over here!
Keep up the great work and I’m sure I can speak for all, when I say your efforts are greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Dean Hohn
>Dave – Like the RSS post solution on your site. I’ll pop over soon and ask a few questions if I may.
>Ken – Using widgets. I’ll do a video of it if people are interested on how I put it all together
>Thom – Just clarification on this 59 number (which is going to be cut to 50). That doesn’t mean there are ONLY 59 active Blogs out there. It just means I have decided that 50 entries in this part of the Blogroll is what I want to target as a reasonable number to have. There are probably well over a 100 blogs that are ‘active’ in one form or another but I am trying to show those that in my view are the ones that are the MOST active of all. The title says it all ‘Most Active Blogs’ it certainly DOESN’T mean the rest are dead!
>Nigel – Looks like everyone likes the ‘Random Blogroll’ feature. Effectively it seems to be based on a random number generator principle and picks 5 different ones to display. See my comments immediately above about the ’59′. I have just picked a cut-off which I think is a reasonable number to have in a blogroll. Nothing more should be read into that number.
>Dean – Another one who would like me to do a video ? Newsletter is all complete now and virtually ready to go for tomorrow. Thanks for the very kind words.
>Jeff – Re. your problems with getting the expandable arrows to work. I have tested it in Internet Explorer version 6 and 7 and Firefox and all work with the default security settings. It needs javascript enabled to work. In Firefox go to this link to ensure you have got it tuned on:
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Javascript#_Enabling_and_disabling_JavaScript
For IE you need to go to Tool > Internet Options > Security Tab. From here, you can either reset the IE default setting by pressing ‘Default Level’ OR alternatively click ‘Custom Level’ and scroll down towards the end in the section called Scripting then click Enable for ‘Active Scripting’. This should sort you out.
Hey Gary,
That was a very quick response, must have caught you at the right time, looking forward to your newsletter launch day tommorrow
All the best
Nigel
Hi Garry
I think that’s a great idea with the blogroll and seems to work ok for me.
I didn’t expect to be on your front page as I know that I don’t post as much here as I do on that other Gazz-man’s site (oops – I shouldn’t have said that!)
You do have me on your overflow page, but you still have the wrong url. I moved it from the wordpress hosting as soon as I was able to, so I’d be grateful if you could correct it for me.
I agree about the auto play, especially as different videos on different sites have varying volume levels. I’d just been on a site where I had to turn the volume up full to hear it and then when I came to yours it blasted out and I couldn’t turn it down quickly enough…!
Anyway I promise I’ll try to come here more often teh heh!
Hilary
Hi Garry,
I have a question completely unrelated to the blogroll. I’m trying to add the Profit Pulling Newsletter as an aweber form to my blog, but can’t figure out how to add the aweber code in for my submit button.
I open the pdf and go to view, but there’s no source. Where does the code go and how do I get there to activate my submit button. There’s a specific url I want it to take them to.
Thanks alot … I’m really stumped!
Debbie
Garry,
I like what you have done with the blogroll. It cleans things up quit a bit. I moved mine to its own page so it would not distract from the content.
I will have to check into the drop down method, I like it. Everything works great for me. I only use Firefox but will take a look with IE.
David
>Hilary – Glad you like the changes. Re. the ‘overflow’ page – like I say this is going to be scraped and replace with an entire list of students.
>Debbie – not sure what your problem is here. You may have to rephrase it. Basically if you are rebranding it you need to load it up to your own webspace and use that URL in your Aweber form. In similar fashion to what Alex showed us when we installed our PPP’s.
>David – Yeah, I’ve tested it works in all Browsers which it does providing javascript is enabled (which is the default setting for browsers).
Right back to getting issue 2 of the Profit Pulling Project newsletter ready for publishing a bit later today.
Harry,
Forgot to mention. Did you work out the reference to ‘little eyes’ which seem to thrown you a bit? It refers back to your comment 6 where you said you misread something and then closed out by saying ‘Cheers big ears’ to me !!
Just thought I’d return the compliment my friend
. Is that all cleared up then or have I confused you more, LOL.
Hi everyone
wow, this is fantastic. I must check the widgets for all this. It feels very clean and easy to navigate.
Another alternative instead of having a link to the “Top monthly commenters” blogs is to have a link to the commenters comments made on this blog.
Maybe try to find or make a new widget that finds out which blogs are updated latest/frequently and those will be displayed in the active blogs.
(Thanks Garry and all commenters you are responsible if I get fired. I only popped by for a short visit that took little longer time. Oh no, my boss is coming now..) (seriously)
/Ali – AliBlogging.com
It went good with my boss.
I asked him about a contract that he should have signed. But he has not done it yet. Now I can spend some more time here.. But I have to work now, little late with everything.
Garry, it feels like the response time for your blog is faster. Have you done something with that? I earlier thought that these kind of themes are slow.
/Ali
Hi Garry,
I use Firefox all the time sop iot is automatically updated and so is the lates. IE is version 7
I can’t send you an image ina comment so I’d need your email address please.
top left of ‘Top Links (4)’ there is a black downward arrow (unuseable by me) below it 4 items then “Most Active Blogs (59)” to the left of which is a right facing arrow also unuseable by me. Seems there’s something strange going on with my machine.
This could of course also account for the discrepancy on the site statistics which I am about to look into. Updates will be apended to this post .
http://tinyurl.com/a8oaaz
Amazing
Have just tried again and of course your system is working so you can scrap the last comment. It seems I had to click slightly to the left of the arrows rather than ON the arrows !
Off now to look into the site stats issue.
Kath
Hi Garry
Clever and smart layout for the blogroll, which i will need to sit and think about for a while.
Regarding the video and having the autoplay, i found that there are methods of loading a video to the blog where you are actually given multiple choices about the format to deliver the video, and i selected autoplay with medium quality for webpages, in the hope it would work for a wider range of users.
The video quality could have been better, but i am just happy to have done the first one and have it displayed on the blog !
Cheers
http://AlanNeath.com
Right just got the Profit Pulling Project Newsletter released so now time to catch up with answering some comments.
>Ali – I’ve already got the last 10 comments at the bottom of the left hand side-bar. What I really want is something like what is on Dave Dunn’s site but I couldn’t use the link he directs you to yesterday. I will try a bit later. It shows the XX most recent people who have Blog Posts on their own sites.
Also regarding speed the site loads at now; I guess this could be a by-product of not having a massive Blogroll to load on the front-page anymore ?
>Kath – Glad it’s working. I tested it on 3 different browsers and providing people have the default security setting it works fine.
EVERYONE – Get over and read Kath’s most recent post here http://bestsuccesswith.com/kathibbetson/general/blogging/optimising-your-site-for-the-search-engines-how-popular-is-your-blog
Over past couple of days we’ve had an interesting exchange about a tool she has found but we are a bit stumped over some of the stats. Most recent comment by Kath seems to suggest my Blog is already far more popular than Alex Jeffreys himself by a good margin!!! But what does it all mean as we are trying to understand some discrepancies. Any Techies or SEO experts cast their eyes over the debate?
>Alan – I don’t think it is the quality of the video that is debated. It is the fact that it is on autoplay. I intend on putting up a Poll later to get feedback.
Hey Garry,
Thought I’d come over and add my input here – I like the ‘Top Commentators’ box, (although as I feature in it at the moment I would say that!). Don’t think anyone will get close to the Gaz-Man’s score though!
Nikki
great changes…..
i think that even though i am included in the top 59 blog, that i need to get out there and be active. But how do you be active and still be productive? i find that when i am active in blogging i am not productive. so how do you balance the two?
another thing i would like some help with adding a newsletter sign up on my blog and also make some changes to my blog roll….
I like the pull down, i do not like how much room my blogroll is taking up on my blog.
i can add it as another page….but how do you get the links to show up.
anyone that would like to help please visit my blog….
thanks again for your help…

Hi Garry,
Yes, very clever Garry for very clever student blogroll changes. How do you do it? (Or is it a trade secret for now, and will trickle down to us in due course?)
Love it all. As my Mum would say, “It’ll keep them on their toes.” Healthy competition is what makes the world go round. If you don’t like it, you don’t have to play. With a bit of extreme fairness rolled up into it with the rotating part.
Agree with Mandy above. Difficult to get the balance between blogging activity (own posts and leaving comments) and productivity (marketing your web presence). I guess it will shake down in time, as we find what works best, in terms of time investment and outcomes, and create our own 80/20 rules.
Valerie

Hey Garry just wanted to say thanks for checking out the site. I had no problem rebranding your ebook and I’m getting a positive reaction from the small list that I do have. So thanks again! Enjoy the conference call tonight!
Hey Garry..
Back again..playing catch up on all the lastest information and comments..boy its so much to take in all at once.
Love the changes to the blog roll and YES PLEASE can I have the details on the widgets that you used to set this up..makes the site look cleaner and crisper as well as loading faster.
Look forward to seeing it when you get the info up….till next time…have a good night..
Paul Mracek.

Garry,
congratulations to this idea and its transformation into reality!
Even if I am one of those with extreme lag I fully agree that the most active blogs should be listed first, as those will be the ones most of our visitors want to go to anyway. So, why not make it esier for everyone to find answers and get exposure?
As to the selfstarting video I have to agree with those who said it is irritating and even harmfull in some situations. I for one like to have control over what is happening on my screen and I think most people are the same.
Again, kudos for all you do, and good success in 2009 and beyond!
Cheers,
Juergen

Hello Garry,
When I visit your blog I can’t beleive how nuch content there is and I to say from a newbies point of view how helpful it is.
I seem to be running faster and standing still because there is so much to learn. Then there is the day job to pay the bills or should I say now, there was the day job.
Thanks a lot Garry keep up the good work
John Patterson.
Hi Gary,
I’m glad to see that you have resolved the blogroll issue. It’s clearly not physically possible to have every single student listed on your main page. It would be unreasonable for anyone to expect that.
At the end of the day it is for you to choose who goes on the front page, or anywhere else for that matter. We each have control over our own blogs.
The solution you have chosen is probably the best compromise. You reward those who are taking action, give a boost to other random blogs and there’s a motivating incentive for others to become more active. As Val said, healthy competition is a good thing.
I’m sure that you will be glad to have this finally resolved so that you can focus on your more important goals for your business.
Well done to you for all your effort and time getting this up and running.
All the best.
Ken
Hi Garry,
I have a quick question.
I want to put an image of
alex’s ebook in the blog
sidebar aweber optin box.
Can you tell me how you did
it?
James
