Follow-up to Module 3 – Awesome!
Wasn’t it great news last night? … the $5,000 in prize give-ways? No silly, not that – my site didn’t crash this week after Alex recommended it again on the webinar coaching session!! Phew, what a relief. Don’t worry I wont let stardom go to my head, lol.
As suggested by Alex, we all need to help each other out, particularly those that are struggling to get started. The more we get on-board our fellow ‘blogging’ community the better it is for everyone due to the benefits of the Social Networking traffic benefits Alex spoke about. Don’t worry if you don’t understand this yet, just take action and you’ll reap the benefits later. So today, I’m breaking off from my other tasks and dedicating my time to answering people’s questions and get up a FAQ page. So anyone struggling, post a comment and you will get a reply back from me or some other student very quickly.
A few topics for your attention, which may point you in the right direction first though:-
Hosting: I’m really, really pleased with my move across to Hostgator and highly recommend the hosting they provide. It is very reasonably priced, easy to use and very important – reliable, so what more could you ask for? Anyone who still hasn’t finished their ‘homework’ and got their Blogs and/or Profit Pulling Platforms up and running need to get on board fast. Get a domain name at Namecheap and sign-up with Hostgator now.
FREE Installations by me! Remember, for those who want a head start I am still offering to do a FREE blog installation and FREE installation of your PPP if you want to focus on other things. Go to my Hosting page to check the offer out.
Student BlogRoll: Anyone who has added a comment to get themselves added to the blogroll, don’t worry I will do a block add of outstanding requests tomorrow. I am no longer doing them piece meal as I need to manage my time better. So if you haven’t already, add a comment with your details on, otherwise you won’t appear and take advantage of the powerful traffic generation methods Alex is going to be using very soon. If you’re not in it you can’t win it as they say! (Note: the links must be blogs, not your PPPs! and best click here to keep them separate)
Free Viral Newsletter: I am making fantastic progress on my Free viral Newsletter that I’m giving away to everyone. I have already secured some fellow collaborators (JVs already!) who will be contributing some killer content. Can’t say too much more as I’m sworn to secrecy at the moment, but I’ll hopefully pry a few teasers out of them for you. Stay tuned, but you really do need to sign-up. It’s all part of the viral or snowball effect Alex was talking about on the Module 3 Webinar. Again, if you don’t fully understand it yet, don’t worry, sign up and things will take care of themselves. Go to the Newsletter tab at the top of the page or check out the posts and all the comments. It’s gonna’ be big, big, big. Did I say it was going to be BIG!
Requests for Help: I’ve said it before and I will say it again, please no direct emails for support type questions. If it’s worth asking, it’s worth saying here on the blog so everyone can get the benefit from the advice offered not just by me but fellow contributors as well. I hope you understand. My full take on the matter is here.
FAQ Page: Following on from the support requests I am going to put up a FAQ page with answers to common reoccurring questions. It will be up later today so check back later.

Hey Garry,
Getting more famous by the day huh?! Good or you man, good for you. You deserve it, so make sure that amongst all the crazyness of everything that you are putting together you enjoy yourself ok. Never forget to have some ‘me’ time, otherwise you will get lost.
Anyway, I missed most of last night’s presentation, unfortunately my connection is not very good + the baby wasn’t very happy for me to be in the office. So I am looking forward to get the recording of it soon to go over.
But I did manage to hear when Alex mentioned for us to concentrate in helping each other as much as possible. So I would like to make 2 offers here, since this is THE place to come to talk to everyone else.
One is that if you still need more contributors for your newsletter please feel free to count on me. You’ve been over my site and you mentioned that you liked my style of writing and quite a few people are thanking me for being so open and quite candid about my personal life. To me that is the whole point of having this blog. It’s my business and it’s my life, I talk a lot and I like to write; even though English is not my first language and I do strugle a bit some times I am just moving onwards with it and having the time of my life.
So if you reckon that what I’ve got to offer is of any value to our peers please do count on me.
Second offer is very exciting to me. I have an army of videos to put together, which would be very valuable to newbies. I also have a different package which would be very valuable to some people wanting to work in the self improvement niche.
Unfortunately I am not allowed to offer them for free. Under no circumtancies I could do that. I was thinking yesterday of coming up with some kind of memebership site where I can figure out some nominal fee once people sign up (Alex’s students I mean) so I wouldn’t be infringing the regulations to the products I bought into. But the thing that is puzzling me is that I am not allowed to sell each video for less then U$27. They were and are quite expensive to me but I can definetely see the value in sharing them with the whole bunch in here.
I will get in touch with Alex to see what he thinks of it and see if he can manage to help me out in overcoming this hurdle of not being able to give them out for free and then I will come back here to tell you guys how I will be moving forward.
That is all for now, as usual sorry for the long message. If anything I do have a problem with writing short posts..
Have a wonderful day and please fell free guys to come over to pay a ‘visit’ to http://www.motherlymarketing.com If for no other reason just to see if I am the kind of person you can resonate with and might fit into your JV kind of prospect. I think is important to ‘connect’ to someone once you decide to work with them, however way we might work together.
I am adding more fellow students to the blog roll as they come and leave a comment or ask me to. It’s easier for me.
As I said have a wonderful day and ‘speak’ soon
Sandra

Hi Garry
I’m one of those newbies who is still trying to get my blog and my website up and running. I have been working through Alex’s videos which I have found really helpful, and have just signed up for my blog at http://www.hilarydickinson.wordpress.com. I’m doing as Alex said and checking around other blogs.
I’m one of those 40% who is not as far on yet and I really want to keep up with the rest of the community so I’m keen to learn from all of you who are further on in this venture than I am (at the moment – but watch out as I’ll be catching you up!!).
I’m so excited to have got in on this programme and I’ve always said that you often learn more from your fellow students than you do from your teachers (I completed my teacher training this year…).
I’ll get my first post up on my blog very soon and I hope to spend the time I can going around and checking out what others are doing. I look forward to others checking out my blog and leaving me comments too.
I’ll probably also come to you for some help as I got as far as the Filezilla part in Alex’s videos and got a bit stuck there (possibly because I hadn’t transferred my hosting to Hostgator and now have to wait for the 24 – 48 hours before it is stable?)
This is all new to me but I’m learning fast and then want to help my 13 year old son to do the same – he wants to be an entrepreneur and what better way to start? I think that this is what I might talk about in my blog…
So much to learn and do yet I still have to be a wife, a mum and teacher as well as get ready for Christmas…! Talk about multi-tasking (but then other mums will know what I mean).
I’ll be back!
Best wishes
Hilary
>Sandra – thanks for dropping by and thanks for the offer about about contributing to my newletter. It really is taking shape. I’ve had quite a lot of offers for help and will be getting back to people later. Today I’m just focusing on Q&As but will be in touch,
>-Hilary – coule of things, yes it could be the 24-48hrs delay that sometimes happens.
I notice though that your blog is hosted on wordpress though. You really should be looking to register your own domain name eg. http://www.hilarydickinson.com as you will have greater control over it. For the say of less than ten bucks a year it will be worth it. I would correct your blog setup on your own domain rather than through wordpress. Do it now as you are starting out rather than causing you loads of grief later on.
Hi Garry,
First thanks for all your had work, that is inspirational.
Alex did it again. What a guy! I am so excited as this is completely different than anything I have done so far and I have wasted some money
in the past I can tell you that. It was 4am when I went to have some sleep. This is crazy.
Garry is right, we have to help each other, it is for everyones benefit.
Sandra,
I like your blog and I am frequent visitor, keep up, you are doing excellent job.
I have put a post on my site this morning asking people to tell us about the coaching programs that have signed up for in the past and to compare it with Alex delivery. Dont need mantor names just a comparison. Have a look and leave the comment if you had experienced one.
Speak soon,

Hi Garry,
Pleased to see your sever survived this weeks traffic surge!
Another great webinar eh? This thing is really going to take off.
As Alex said last night and Garry has in his post, we are all here to help each other.
So if anyone needs help with their blog, profit pulling platform or anything else, just leave a comment on my blog
I have just made my first camtasia video, cool piece of software. It’s about a plugin that adds an aweber form to your blog posts which should help build a list quicker.
I used it on a couple of post for two days and had a few subscribers so worth checking it out.
Hillary – Will pop over to your blog and looking forward to your first post. If you have any trouble with filezilla try using coffecup ftp. It’s so simple to use.
Cheers
Mark
http://missioninternetmarketing.com
> Gordon -thanks for popping by. Comment added to you blog.
>Mark – I checked your videos out and they are cool. btw, that link you posted for coffecup is not valid. Yeah, like you say I’m a lot happy this week that after Alex recommendation of my site it didn’t crash under the surge of traffic. Glad I moved to Hostgator – extremely reliable and no problems at all.
Thanks Garry, sorry about the link I must still be asleep after the late night
Here is the link for coffecup:
http://www.coffeecup.com/freestuff/
Cheers
Mark
>Nitin – To add more menus on the menu bar in a blog you just create a PAGE rather than a post in your Blog dashboard. Right next to where you normally write a post. Check the image
Hey guys,
Jean posted a question during the webinar. “How do you change the administrators password on your Blog after setup – for security reasons?” Anyone know the answer? It must be somewhere, on the cpanel, probably on the database setup but can’t seem to find it.
Anybody help?
Hi Garry,
Great post and reminder about helping each other. I won’t be available today, but will be home tomorrow to help out if anyone needs a hand. I’m relatively new, but I do have my blog up, am creating a video to put on it, and have my squeeze page up and running.
So, whatever I can do to help . . . I’m willing.
By the way, Hostgator doesn’t usually take the amount of time they say. . . keep checking. It only took about an hour for me. The other place to get a cheap domain name is Netfirms. So far I can’t find that they have an affiliate program, but they only charge $6.99 for the domain name and then you can transfer it to Hostgator for hosting (or where ever you choose).
All the best,
Theresa
Hi Garry,
The answer of how to change your blog’s admin password,
At your blog’s dashboard, go to “user” (is at the right of plugin) and click on your username after that. You will then be brought to the page where you can edit your profile and you can change your blog’s password at the end of the page.
Hope this help.
Will
http://WillLim.com
>Will – right in front of me. Easy when you know where to look though
>Theresa – you are right in that things may be visible within a few hours after you change your nameservers. But a few keys things you need to be aware of that I learn’t from my experiences last week
1. It can be visible one moment and disappear the next during the initial 24-48 hours. Effectivley it is not stable.
2. It also can be visible to some people and not to others as the change propogates across the internet world. Example, last week when I was transferring my blog some people could see the new blog on Hostgator within hours. However parts of the world could only see my old blog and in fact were posting on it!!!! I lost a few comments this way.
So be warned, the fact you see it DOES NOT mean the changes have fully taken effect!!
Hi Garry
Thanks for your response. I have got my own domain name http://www.hilarydickinson.com, which is what I think I have transferred to Hostgator, but at the moment it does not seem to be working.
I’m hosting my blog at wordpress purely because I’m trying to do as Alex said and get it up and going today. I think I’ve made my first post so if someone would like to check it out on http://www.hilarydickinson.wordpress.com, that would be great for me to know that it is working OK.
Any comments or help will be gratefully received!
Thanks.
Hilary

I watched Alex’s video over and over on this one step about
loading the “Alex Ebook” onto my Filezilla…………he says to use
his Ebook (I listened 3-4 times) instead of my branded EBook………
I can’t understand that at all…………..why would we Brand our
Ebook, then upload his EBook………….can you tell me
what the right Ebook to upload., is?
Warren,
You upload your OWN branded ebook. Like you say no point otherwise.
Hi Garry,
I thought about your blog crashing last time Alex talked about your URL on the call and am glad to know you survived unscathed! I was so jazzed by the call last night with Alex telling us all the great things he has in store for us. He also got me to thinking about all the things I need to do to improve my blog. So I’m going to take his advice and ask for help from the group because I am not a techie.
Unfortunately, there are many things I need help with, so here goes: add an “About Me” page, add an RSS feed, add an Aweber form to the sidebar, add a “Useful Resources” section either as another page or to the sidebar, change the way Comments are shown and be able to re-order the way things are in the sidebar.
Whew … that’s alot to ask of you folks, but I’m putting it out there for anyone who has the expertise, willingness and time to assist. So, I thank you in advance.
Debbie
P.S. I have these questions also posted on my blog if anyone would like to leave info there as well. http://www.debbiefoster.net Thanks again!!
hey Garry;
man, gutted – I missed most of the module last night.
But… just read a post over at Nigel’s blog (http://nigelyip.xtreemhost.com/) that gives a quick overview of last night’s module.
Story telling, eh? Well, listen up!
Jim Edwards (the self proclaimed webinar king no less) is hosting a webinar tonight called “Sell More with Stories: An interview with World-Renowned Copywriter, Alan Forrest Smith”
As far as I know there’s no too many spaces left so check out http://www.webinarking.com/sell-more-with-stories.html to register before it’s too late.
I’ve joined a lot of his webinars and they are always top notch!
Cheers,
Austin.

Debbie,
I’d like to know more about RSS feeds. I think I’ve got it on my site but how can I tell it’s doing anything? Can somebody let me know? And How do I get all those little icons (social media I think they are) that are on other peoples sites added as well. It seems to be something I should be doing to make it easier for people to track me but I don’t know how yet
As for the extra pages, see comment 8 above – you add a PAGE rather than a post.
Comments – what do you want to do with them?
As for anything to do with your sidebar(s. From your Blog administrator dashboard, click Design, then Widgets and you do it all from there. To reorder you just drag them into position.
Let me know if that covers it.
I found a GREAT plug-in for WordPress to install and use Google Analytics with our WP Blogs!
It is easy to Install, FREE and works GREAT!
>>>> http://boakes.org/analytics/
BTW – I added ALL of your blogs to my site under the subscribe page!
Garry, can you add me to your left sidebar….

Hi Garry,
Great to hear that you are setting up a FAQ to help fellow student. I have finally got my blog setup at http://www.frankiesng.com
Just a tip for your reader to get discounts for their Domain name. Go to http://www.dncoupons.com/ and click on the tab to select your domain host, like godaddy, namecheap etc and then click on “Save Big” and you can use the code to get a discount. The savings you get are usually $1. This adds up when you have a lot of domain name.
Enjoy!!
Garry,
I keep asking you (now the 3rd time) to get on your main page of your blog. I am a student of ALex’s also. Thanks.
My blog: http://www.alankiel.com
Alan,
Read the post you’ve just replied to and you’ll see why !!!!
I think I have made it very clear regarding additions to the Student Blogroll.
Hi Garry,
Thanks for being a real “go-to” guy and assisting so many of us.
With Dean’s book and everyones post, I just got my site set up. Nothing there yet however, but YEAH!
Question-How (or is it possible) to track different domains thru Google Analytics that I point to, and land on, my http://www.calmprofits.com site?
Right now I have my name domain that is going somewhere else that I will re-direct to land on this main site. Then, I bought another domain name for the Profit Pulling Platform offering.
I wish all three of these (and others, as I go along) to registar on one Google Analytics tracking.
Cheers,
Lesley
http://www.twitter.com/lesleymorgan
Hi Lesley,
If you go into your Google Analytics account looks as though you can add as many domains as you like, though I’ve only got my one blog in at the moment but in theory it seems as though there shouldn’t be a problem.
Reminder folks …..
Get signed up for the Free re-brandable newsletter. For newbies it will feature step-by-step instructions for basic but essential tasks you need to do. For the more experienced, some advanced stuff; a key feature in first edition will be a real eye-opener to do with traffic generation. Do you want to have a chance of winning Alex’s $1000 competition? Well, you need to reserve your copy NOW.
For those who have lists already built up it even gets better!!! It is fully re-brandable so you can send it out as your own with YOUR links in it.
So grab it now. Click on the NEWSLETTER tab at the top of the page. You have to be in it to win it !!
Garry,
Thanks for the response. Ken Acton also responded to me on my blog. If I knew anything about RSS, I’d be happy to share, but I don’t. As far as the social site icons, my blog came ready made with them. I used Jeff Johnson’s Free SEO Blog software. Maybe you could look at my source code to see what to do.
I managed to rearrange my sidebar and put in an Aweber form, but how do I get my “submit” button coded to go to the landing page? There’s no paypal involved since it’s already coded on the original site, and I don’t want to send folks to the squeeze page since they would have already given me their name and email.
Anyone know how to do this, ie. code an Aweber form button to go to the landing page?
Thanks!
Debbie

Quick one please….
How do I get my http://harryharris.wordpress.com with all it’s posts and comments onto my http://www.harryharrisblog.com which is blank at the moment…..without losing any of the posts and comments that I have built up?
All help is appreciated!

Hi Garry, name in lights again, cant be bad.
Have you had a chance to look at the forum I have put up?
Nice thing is with a forum everyone reading the questions can input an answer and that would take the pressure off a Blog owner who has to answer them all.
You may well enjoy it for a while but in the end it will be very time consuming.
Take a look and send some feedback, would be appreciated.

Garry,
The various feed buttons on my site were a part of the Theme I selected. I have not found a widget choce which will add them.
I have used the siteBuilder and Fantastico sections of host gator a great deal and will be happy to try and help anyone with questions in those areas.
Finally, the current link for me in your blogroll is no longer operational. the link should be http://www.kennethdouglas.com/blog
thanks for all of your unselfish work which benefits all of us.

Hey Garry!
I am one of Alex’s students, and I just wanted to tell you that this site rocks.
One of the things I am really interested in is how are you driving traffic to your site? The most I have gotten is 20 hits per day, but I would love to get a lot more. lol. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Hey Garry! Another great post as usual!
You are really pushing the other students, me included, to work harder on our blogs and stuff.
I am glad you got your blog back up and running. I tried to log onto it the other night and was sorely disapointed that I couldn’t see more.
Keep up the good work! You rock!

Hi there gary adrianslide here from Alexjeffrey’s coaching club..just wanted to say keep up the good work and if anybody can help me with my filezilla, i can access the squeeze page but as soon as i submit the name and email it redirects me to a page that says “error cannot be viewed”.therefore im guessing the new customer trying to get the free ebook wont be directed to the thankyou page. Please help adrianr26b@hotmail.com (i hav’nt set up my blog yet)..ahhh
Hi adrian
Have you changed the aweber code on your squeeze page?
When you log into your aweber account you need to put the location of your download page into the thank you address of your aweber form.
You then need to copy and paste the code that it gives you into your squeeze page and upload it again.
Then when you enter your name and email on your squeeze page, aweber will redirect you to the thank you download page.
Because you are getting an error message you may want to check that you have spelled the location of the thank you page correctly and have also uploaded the thank you page to that location.
I hope that helps adrian, let us know how it goes.
Ryan
