A Helping Hand from the Alex Jeffreys Students
This morning I am putting up a bit of a consolidation post to try and direct people to where to go and find out what they need. It’s been crazy over the past few days with the momentum just building bigger and bigger in everything all us students are doing. There were around 120 comments posted yesterday alone on my blog. Wow!! But I need your help as you will find out later in the post, so please stick with me folks …
Encouragement: Now I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again we all gain from this viral network of blogs and inter-related traffic we are building up here. If you need evidence of just how BENEFICIAL IT IS FOR YOU then you need look no further than than Dean’s comment here. Dean Hohn has been a typical visitor to this blog and others, as many of us are. In checking Google Analytics to check his traffic stats he found he received 26% by been referred direct from this site (he’s going to get alot more now
). And remember as I said yesterday we are only running at an estimated 20% capacity at the moment (see why here).
Student BlogRoll: Hope you have all noticed that there is now an ‘overflow’ Student Blogroll page for all the extra students I added yesterday to the blogroll. So if you want to get in touch with another student this is the site to go to, all in one easy handy place (Hope you like it Alex – I know you pop in eash day!). I’m still working through all the comments to add those that are still pending. If you haven’t requested to be included yet and want to be, please add you details here as it keeps them nicely in one place to keep track of “Complete Student List”. I will do a block update again in the next few days.
NOT an Alex Jeffreys Student?:I realise we are probably getting more and more readers who are not AJ students. And that is great, I don’t want to neglect you guys too! Unfortunately, you missed out with the personal mentorship with Alex but if you want to find out more about how he builds is business then grab his FREE Profit Pulling system here or fillin the sign up box in the right side bar (===>) and you will get it immediately.
Newsletter: Apologies, but I am delaying the launch of this until next week
My reason for this slight delay is two-fold. It is evident that people are struggling to come to grips with everything Alex is teaching us so it’s probably not quite the ideal time for launching it as it will be ‘lost’ in everything else that is going on. Plus, I’ve been overwhelmed myself with keeping on top of things and as a consequence I have not quite got the ’backend’ supporting structure in place and I wouldn’t want to fail you here. I’m really, really sorry but I think it is the right decision at the moment.
The good news is that gives you all more time to get featured in the launch issue. I promise that every single person will be featured. You need to visit yesterday’s post “Get a slice of the $1 MILLION up for grabs” to get onboard. Remember, if Dean has managed 26% of his entire traffic just from this blog what is a re-brandbale newsletter with a massive circulation growing viral going to do for him, not just on launch day but ad infinitum into the future. The potential is awesome. Those that want to grab a copy on launch day need to go here ‘FREE NEWSLETTER’.
WANTED: Your Feedback:There are a few things I’d like feedback on from as many people as possible. Firstly, tentatively I’ve called the newsletter, “The Profit Pulling Project” but what do people think of this title? Do you have any better suggestions? Please let me know. If someone comes up with a better name that I can use then of course you will be given full credit in the newsletter meaning even more organic traffic for you.
Also, I ‘ve said I was going to launch it on a Friday – but is this the best day to do such a thing? Have any of the experienced marketers knowledge of the best days of the week to publish something like this so it has the best impact?
And finally regarding the newsletter, I am going to instigate later today a Aweber ‘pop-up’ signup box on my blog to see if that entices even more people to sign-up rather than them having to click on the separate page to signup as now. Let me know what you think about this too? All feedbackis welcomed regarding the pop-up experiment.
FREE Blog/PPP Instalations: Those that are still struggling to get up and running with things can still take advantage of my free installations. Takes all the hassle away from you. I can do them extremely quickly now without even thinking, lol !
Hopefully this post will summarize where we are all and where you need to go to for the topic you need to find out about. As usual, post any Q&A’s on the blog, but like I say I am a bit overwhelmed at the moment so will keep checking in at regular intervals to respond so in between I can focus on the major tasks that I have to complete. I’m sure in between, other helpful students will try where possible to respond as this has been an every growing theme amongst us. The willingness to help each other out and make the community thrive even more. I’ll catch up with you later.

Hey Garry, You are King of the bloggers. Look at the stuff you’re pulling off.
I’d stick with the ‘Profit Pulling Platform’ title. It’s catchy.
I popped a comment on your other post too.
Dave
Dave, Thanks for the feedback.
Right I need your help guys. I’m trying to create a popin in Aweber.
Now I can do a standard ‘popup’ optin box (maybe some of you guys can see it on the site when you visit),
But I want to create a ‘pop-over/hover’ in Aweber. Now when I try it and do a preview in Aweber it justs say ‘error on page’. However, exactly the same form as a popup works fine, anybody any ideas?
Hi Garry,
I like to the title you have chosen so I would go with that.
I know all the big marketers do their launches on a Tuesday, not sure why that works best, but they have done testing and found they get a better response.
The aweber pop up would be a good idea Garry as your post with the form my get lost as you add more.
Thanks for your reply to my email, the topic came up last night.
If anyone needs a ‘stop’ page to add to the profit pulling platform I have one made up. It’s a good idea as I lost a few subscribers at the start before I added it.
If you would like it, leave a comment on this post on my blog and I will get back to you:

not sure what the problem is with the popup garry.
I tried the hover box on my page and worked straight away, so it should work. I think i placed the code in the header page near to where I’d put my analytics code. where on the page are you putting the aweber code?
i’d go with the ‘hover’ type if you can as firefox was trying to block the popup box.
dave
also set it to show once per user. it pops up everytime i view a page on the site, even after i post
dave
Dave,
I had mine in the footer next my GA but I’ve moved it to the header and still same.
However, I think the problem is the aweber script and not my site. Reason I say that is that in Aweber there is the option to preview it first – it doesn’t even work there !! But as soon as I change it to a popup it works. I wonder if there is a ‘bug’ in aweber in that if you change it’s type it doesn’t like it. I’ll try creating a new one from scratch.
I’ll intend setting it to once per user, but I need it as it is now so that when I visit the page I can test it !!!
Hey Garry;
Wow man, your blog is really shaping up to be an great information hub for us all. Can I recommend a ‘search box’ somewhere?
For aweber I’ve used a text widget and put it on the top right of my blog – same as Frank Haywood. Firefox is blocking your pop-up at the moment and to be honext I do find them annoying whatever shape or form they come in.
Keep up the great work
Austin.

Thanks Mark,
Tuesdays yeah interesting – any advance of Tuesdays?
There’s something wrong definately with Aweber and pop-overs. Whatever I do it doesn’t work but as soon as I convert it back to a popup it’s fine.
Wasted too much time on it, Have to wait until online live chat people come online later. Leave it as a popup for now.
Hello everybody,
The reason why i have said everybody is that i dont think anybody has checked out my blog
You are more than likely going to post/read on garry’s so hence the reason for this reply.

Great offer of help there. There are load more students blogs though, on the new additional ‘overflow’ blogroll I mention at the head of the post. If you have a webcam get on over there and introduce yourself. I guess you do need a webcam Mark?
>Charles – well done on getting your blog off the ground and don’t get despondent. It took me 9 post over the course of the first week until my comment count struggled into double figures.
Excellant stuff mate. Thanks for the email last night will be sending you one back today with my idea.

Hi Garry,
I really just wanted to say thank you for your hard work in making this comunity what it is becoming.
I also wanted to reassure the newbies out there that just because we are not on a par with these big guys it doesn’t mean we are failing. I have received comments of concern that we will never be able to compeat with the likes of Garry and Dean etc but really thats not what it is about.
I am more than happy with the progress myself and Dad have made. We have no IM knowledge and very little computer knowledge. Don’t worry if things don’t feel like they are clicking into place right now coz they will do.
I have written some posts about our journey in this exciting program so please do come over and learn from our mistakes, we can learn together and NO ONE will be left behind!
Hope you don’t mind me saying that Garry, I don’t want any of our community feeling despondant- we want to keep moral high!!lol
I have commented on my blog about your e book so I think I have secured my immortality now!!
Good Luck
Becky
http://www.ianandbekycarteronline.com
Hi Becky,
Thanks for the comment and you are dead right that no one should be left behind as our strength is in our community.
As for me been referred to as one of the big guys, made me chuckle a bit, but I’m starting out just like you. It was only 2 week – 2 WEEKS – ago that then number of posts on my site was in single figures and now at the last check is is way passed 500! And remember there was a significant period during those 2 weeks where I had severe hosting problems and my site was down. Now the reason I say all this is to encourage you all. See how far I have come in such a short space of time and you can do it too.
How have I done it? The answer is simple. I have taken what Alex has said totally to heart and focused entirely on an ethos or giving value to others. I haven’t even really done anything with my own PPP yet and listened with a little envy on the call the other night when people were already building up lists from there’s and I wasn’t. However, this motivates me even more to build a strong foundation and good following and the other things will fall into place later.
I’m flattered that you say I’m one of the ‘big guys’ but truly I’m not. We can all look at someone else and say I want what they have (as I have myself in the above example), but the only way we are going to achieve what you want is by taking action.
That’s the way I look at it anyway.
Hi Everyone,
Managed to sort out the Aweber ‘pop-over’ problem. they don’t work with Internet Explorer 6.0. Pop-ups do, that is if your pop-up blocker is turned off.
Now this must be possible but how do I go about the following? If the reader has a browser that is IE7 use the ‘pop-over’ else use the ‘pop-up’. You must be able to code that in HTML somehow?
Any techies out there know how??
Hey Garry,
I read a report by internet legend Mark Joyner that had a section dedicated to which days were best to send emails and such. I have it on my hard drive some where and will post a link to it on my blog when I find it.
The best days to send emails and launch products are in the middle of the week. I don’t remember 100% for sure, but I believe Tuesday was supposed to be the best.
If you look at all the big gurus, they always launch their products the middle of the week and never on the weekends.
I posted the video on how to set up your ebook in a JV Giveaway and I have had a couple of requests to do some other videos. I have also started on my article for the first issue of the newsletter.
After the brain storming session yesterday I decided to take some requests on which “how to” video every one wants me to do next.
Since you are the main hub these days, how about sending every one over to my blog and put in a request for which tutorial video they would like to see.
I will use the results to determine which ones I do first.
Isn’t the Aweber fly in Java script? I didn’t think that a pop up blocker stopped them. I will look into it for you.
Later,
JT
Hi Garry,
Just wanted to let you know the pop-up looked fine when I got to your page. It did make me wonder whether you were wanting everyone that had already signed up to sign up using the pop-up. Probably not, but just want to check as I definitely want the newsletter.
Also, I’ve always read that Tuesday’s are the best day to send. I noticed some of the other folks have seen that, too.
Thanks for all your hard work.
Debbie
http://debbiefoster.net
Hi Debbie,
Thanks for confirming pop up working okay. No need to sign-up again !!
Looks like Tuesday is the firm favourite at the moment.
Erwin Chua,
Tried to post over on your blog. You need to take the bit that forces people to register and login before posting. That’s why you aren’t getting any comments – you need to make it easy for people :O)
Same applies to anyone else. If your not getting comments that may be why.
HOUSTON WE HAVE A PROBLEM
=========================
Just a quick message. Anyone trying to contact me via email – I can’t access it at the moment. I’m working on another PC at the moment but I can’t access my email from it. It’s getting late on, on a Friday evening here in the UK so I will pick up any emails tomorrow now.
I see from my Paypal account a couple of people have signed up for my hosting options and free installations. If you are reading the blog I’ll pick any emails you send tomorrow and get them sorted. In the meantime go through the instructions precisely on the Hosting page.
Thanks.
Hi Garry!
I think it is smart to keep the first issue of the newsletter on hold until we get more students on track.
That is what I like the most about Alex’s coaching group. We don’t want to leave anyone behind unless they want to quit themselves. But even then we push it a little more to help people out.
People need to get their mindset straight. Do you guys know what you got yourself into? This opportunity is bigger and more valuable then the money you spent on this program. But you need to take action, don’t wait for tomorrow. Get started now.
Alex gives a lot of value from is program but even better, there is students like Garry and Gary and at least 10 other students that are positioning themselves now giving out even more value to help you get to the top.
Jump on the train and enjoy the ride.. but you need to get action. They will only give you the key and put it in the door. Hey, they will even open the door for you.. but you need to walk through the door yourself.

Hi Garry,
Good call on postponing the release of the newsletter. I agree it was a smart decision to make. And I know there are probably many other students besides myself who are grateful.
Here are my thoughts on a couple of your questions…like one of the earlier posters, I personally don’t care for pop-ups of any sort either. Having said that, obviously they must work or people wouldn’t keep using them.
However, the ones that annoy me the most are those that pop up within seconds of my landing on a web page…before I’ve even had a chance to read anything on the page, here’s this pop up wanting me to sign up for something.
One of the best pop ups I ever encountered was one that was apparently somehow timed or coded to pop up when I had read down to about the middle of the page. I remember thinking then how smart that was.
And I agree with several others, I’ve always heard Tuesdays was THE day for launches. But I also heard one smart marketer who said he never launched anything on Tuesday…because everybody else did…and he didn’t want his email to be only one of dozens that flood people’s inboxes on Tuesday. So he always launched later in the week. Made sense to me.
Kudos on a great site that just keeps getting better!
Hi Garry,
Great work, keep it up!

Erwin

Hey Garry,
When are you going to outsource your help desk and employing a VA? Mate, I don’t know how you keep up with it all! Are you getting any sleep?
Lack of sleep finally caught up with me yesterday and I just had to physically have a break. The mind didn’t shut off though, I haven’t found the switch for that yet!
Had a ripper of an idea last night that I’ll share with you soon! I’ve just got to figure out how to do it! Gee it’s a bugger being an old dog and trying to learn new tricks!
Thanks for the mention in the post. I was absolutely blown away when I actually looked at the stats and where the traffic was actually coming from.
As you said, the power of what we’ve got going here is AWESOME and for that very reason, we need for everyone to get on board, afterall we don’t want to leave anyone behind.
I’d like to make a suggestion that everyone that hasn’t signed up for the forum, get over there and sign up.
If we use that as our common point for posting questions, requests for assistance and adding to the resource area, it will help to unload you Garry and it could well be that others of us can help as well.
Many hands makes light work. Lets share the workload and we all will benefit.
Don’t get me wrong Garry, I’m certainly not trying to take anything away from you, because you’re doing a mighty job! But lets face it, there are only so many hours in the day and one can only do so much.
Lets all remember what Alex said about building our businesses back in the beginning, (even thought that does seem like a distant memory and light-years away), we have to plan for our Personal Needs first.
I’ll get off my soapbox now and go home and work in my own patch!
Thanks again for the support Garry and all the TRAFFIC! I’d also like to thank everyone that has dropped by my site and left a post, it’s greatly appreciated and your comments have been extremely encouraging.
Cheers,

Hi Garry,
Just came across a plugin that
lets you put your links in multiple
columns. Take a look and see what You think!
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-multicollinks/
Bed time for me,
Bobby
Hi Garry,
I spent yesterday afternoon going around to different sites and working on my blogroll. About 4:00 this morning … ugh … I had an idea. As I was going through the sites, I saw several cool tools that people were writing about in their posts, and I wanted to remember them.
So what I was thinking was that I would put up a Cool Tools page on my blog and list all the cool tools that I’ve come across from fellow students’ posts, giving a “contributed by” and their website address linked. Of course, if it’s a tool I already know about, there would be no backlink.
I would list the backlink based on the first place I see the tool. For example, Bobby Winchell’s mention of the plugin for multiple column links that I first saw in this comments string would go to him. As people find new cool tools, they could drop a comment on my blog and I’ll update the Cool Tools page.
Anyway, since I don’t have techie skills … yet, I thought having one place for the group to go to check out all the cool tools and their links would be a contribution.
I figured your blog would be the place to go to see if anyone else has offered this up. So, let me know if they have and what you think. If no one has, and you think it would add value, feel free to let everyone know. I’ll be working on it over the weekend.
Thanks,
Debbie

Hi Garry,
Can you do me a favour mate i am a newbie but i have just got my blog up at http://www.grahamscarisbrick.com when you get a chance can you pop over and have a look at it for me, i know it is not the best so can you help me to get it looking decent, i am not to sure if the theme i have my blog set up on is the right one what do you think also mate can you tell me what plugins you would recommend to put on my site i would love to have a blogroll on my blog how do i go about it.
Thanks a lot mate and keep up the awesome job you are doing.
Graham.
Hi Garry
I think the name is fine. As far as the launch day I do not think it really matters in this situation. I find for advertising I get much better results on the weekends.
So perhaps the thinking behind launching mid week is to get the affiliates set up to quickly boost sales on the first weekend after launch.
Thomas
Evening All,
Not really had chance to pop in today. Had a bit of a break relaxing with the family. Hopefully catch up with the comments tomorrow as it is late evening here in the UK. Hope you are all having a great weekend.
Just wanted to put up a quick comment. I’ve had a lot of offers of help from people with the newsletter over the past week which I really appreciate. I’m just managing to keep on top of things. One priority I have made sure I focus on during this period is those that have signed up for the FREE installations of the PPP and blogs as I want to turn these around as quickly as possible as it grows out thriving community.
Help Needed
Tomorrow I will be putting up a post of specific areas that I need some help or guidance with. Some of these are techie things. So anyone reading out there please pop by tomorrow. One thing I am looking for, is someone to help with compiling a list of those students that have completed the 4 steps to get featured in the launch issue as described in yesterdays post. This has proved very popular with over 120 posts on the thread as I write. It will probably grow even further as well.
So what I want is somebody to volunteer to do is check that anyone who has posted on that thread ‘Get a slice of the $1 MILLION up for grabs’ (and that thread only) to pop along to their blogs to confirm if they have completed the required steps 3 and 4 on their own sites. If they have, drop a comment on their site to say they have secured there place in the book. Also it would be a good idea for anyone who volunteers to do this, to actually compose a page (or post) on their own blog that is updated as the definitive list of those people who have posted and what step(s) they have completed. People will then be able to pop along to your site to see if they have completed all the requirements.
So if anyone is up for this let me know. Of course you will get a special mention in the launch issue along with a link to your site as a big thanks for doing this. You’ll also gain traffic for people coming to your site to check how they are doing!!
So any volunteers????
Gazza… DUDE!
I take a weekend off in “Noof-Noof” to go to a family wedding, write about it on my blog then check out Col the “Snitch” to see what she is doing and she has like about 30 comments on her lead thread.
By the way, what cat did I let out of the bag? (I read that over at Coleen-Land) Did you manage to stuff it back in? LOL! Sorry if I inadvertently said something too early.
I go to Deano’s and he’s got comments coming out of his blogorama and then I come here and JEEZ – the place has exploded! It took me ages even to READ the damn things.
BTW – Thomas Skavhellen in 21 above – thanks mate for that lovely comment you sneaked in about me.
Gazza, all the big dudes send stuff out on Tuesday (or so says Mike Filsaime), so maybe I’d take Wednesday. Who cares anyway? This is getting bigger than Ben Hur!
Regards,
Gary Simpson
PS: I just got back from my weekend at “Noof-Noof” and turned a real -ve into a +ve and come up with… PROJECT X! Check it out – it’s a real HOOT!

Hello
I really need help with hosting – is there anyone who could talk a newbie through the process – stuck with knowing what package to choose on hostgator so don’t stand much chance with the technical stuff! If you can email me with a telephone number, I will ring you straight back as I only have this afternoon (UK) free to do it. colin@druidslea.fsnet.co.uk
Thanks

Hi,
I just wonder if there is anybody who is prepared to help out a very frustrated fellow student of Alex. I am completely stuck with my squeeze page (it won’t refer to my thank you page) and my blog which refuses to be altered.
Regards,
Rod
Hi Rob,
Are you still looking for help with hosting and setting up of WordPress?
If so, register on my site http://www.joetrueman.com – I’m offering to do completely free install of WordPress (including Aweber if needed) for the first 20 AJ students who request it.
My site is still a “work in progress”, but if you click on the “Sign-up for FREE!” link on the bottom of the home page, that should do it!
All the best,
Joe
Hi Garry,
Can you please add my site to the blogroll?

Hi Gary,
I had a problem with WordPress when I updated to the new version, 2.7 and lost a few of my Blog posts, one of them was the post to your blog about the Newsletter, so I missed getting into it this time.
I’ll have to get my act together for the next issues, great work, I think you’re on a winner.
Eoin
Hey thought I would come and check your blog out. Nice work. Im one Alex Jeffreys students too. Isn’t he good?! Today was the best webinar so far. Mind you they have all been awesome. I enjoyed today though.
http://www.zestformarketing.com
Hi Eoin,
Sorry to hear about your problems that caused you to miss out in getting featured in the Launch edition of the Newsletter. It’s a shame, particularly if you put the effort in only to miss out.
Not to worry, though as there are plenty more opportunities to get exposure for all of us.
Hi Garry,
You have a really great blog, I was wondering how to add this plugin to my blog “Leave a Reply”
I have looked everywhere for it but I do not really know what I am looking for.
Can you help?
Thanks a lot
Flor
P.S. I am a student of Alex Jeffrey’s he’s just great.
